Alienware’s new 34-inch gaming monitor is the first equipped with Samsung’s latest Quantum Dot OLED display and will cost around $1,299, according to a report by Ars Technica.

Dell’s subsidiary showcased this screen (AW3423DW) at CES last year and will begin shipping the monitor in the spring of this year.

While the price may not be low, it’s still a bargain. It’s still less expensive than many of the traditional OLED monitors available.

For instance, LG’s 32-inch Ultrafine UHD OLED display, though not ideal for gaming, will cost $3,999.

Alienware’s 55″ OLED gaming monitor is priced in the $2,719 range on Amazon and was initially launched in 2019 at $3,999. Size is an issue here; however, it’s great to see a monitor equipped with new QD-OLED technology well under the $2000 mark

The Differences Between QLED And OLED TVs Are Described.

Alienware’s QD-OLED monitor has all the benefits that come with being an OLED monitor, such as high contrast and deep blacks. Its Quantum Dot technology results in more excellent brightness and more vivid colors in the mix.

The monitor is expected to boast a 99.3 percent DCI-P3 color spectrum. It also comes with 3440 pixels of 1440 pixels and a refresh rate of 175Hz in addition to 250 nits of brightness, with the maximum at 1,000nits. It also has a speedy 0.1ms response time and support for Nvidia’s GSync ultimate technology.

The price of $1,299 on this Alienware monitor provides an idea of the prices we can expect for other Samsung products that utilize the QD-OLED technology. In addition, Sony is set to release the first-ever QD-OLED 4K TV later in the year. So it will be fascinating to see the price.
