Phosphorus, a super important element for life on Earth, has been found in an ocean outside of our planet for the first time ever! It was discovered on Saturn’s icy moon called Enceladus. Phosphorus is crucial for making soil fertile here on Earth.
Scientists believe that the amount of phosphorus in the hidden seas of Enceladus could be at least 100 times greater than in Earth’s oceans.
This is really exciting because it means that other icy worlds like Europa, one of Jupiter’s moons, and Titan, the biggest moon of Saturn, might also have lots of phosphorus in their waters.
