South Korean Airline With Over 170 Passengers Crashes at Muan International Airport
A tragic plane crash involving Jeju Air’s flight 7C2216 at Muan International Airport has claimed the lives of 62 people and left many others injured.
The Boeing 737–800, which was returning from Bangkok, Thailand, skidded off the runway while attempting to land. While a bird strike is suspected to have caused a landing gear malfunction, this has not been confirmed. With over 170 passengers and 6 crew members on board, this marks the first fatal crash in the history of the low-cost airline.
All flights at Muan airport have been canceled, and South Korea’s acting President has ordered full rescue operations.
